Garden Retail Candidates: (Vote for 1 of the following)
Gerry Docksteader has been in the North American Horticultural Industry for approximately 30 years, having started as vendor/supplier from Canada where he was born and raised. After marrying his lovely wife Karen Kemp-Docksteader, also engaged in our industry, Gerry immigrated to the US and ventured into the growing side of the industry working for some of the leading proprietary product growers in the US.
Gerry has been VP of Operation for Master Nursery Garden Centers for over six years, where his primary focus has been assisting a select list of vendors with their sales and service to the exclusive membership. Sales and vendor relationships have grown significantly as they have developed tools to assist their vendor base, service the Independent Garden Center market, and ultimately, the gardening consumer. It is the experience Gerry has gained through contract negotiations and collaborative sales and marketing interaction with vendors and garden center co-ops that he feels will be a value to AmericanHort, as their success rate in the industry has been very measurable.
The experience Gerry has acquired working in a select number of sales and marketing positions for major proprietary focused growers provides that inherent grower knowledge one needs to contribute measurably to the growth of our industry. Gerry appreciates being considered for this opportunity and privilege of serving the association and industry.
