American Standard for Nursery Stock
The purpose of the American Standard for Nursery Stock (Z-60.2) is to provide buyers and sellers of nursery stock with a common terminology to facilitate transactions involving nursery stock.
For instance, the standards establish common techniques for:
- Measuring plants
- Specifying and stating the size of plants
- Determining the proper relationship between height and caliper, or height and width
- Determining whether a root ball or container is large enough for a particular size plant
This guide is a valuable tool to aid in communication about nursery stock products. The Standard is intended for use by professional horticulturists and landscape architects with an understanding of common horticultural terms, plant nomenclature, and plant attributes.
