AmericanHort Welcomes Kathryn O’Donnell and Hollis Malone to Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame

The AmericanHort Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame (formerly known as the PIA Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame) was established to honor individuals of integrity whose personal dedication provides great leadership in the development and growth of the interiorscape industry. Individuals nominated must have contributed a minimum of 15 years to the development and permanent betterment of the interiorscape industry.

The lifetime achievements of Kathryn O’Donnell of Botanicus, Inc  and of Hollis Malone, Gaylord Entertainment and Properties will be recognized by AmericanHort at Cultivate’18, July 14-17, in Columbus, Ohio. Honoring their contributions to the development of the interiorscape industry, they will be inducted into the Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame during the Plantscape Awards Celebration on Sunday, July 15th.

Kathryn O’Donnell, an interior landscape industry pioneer, was instrumental with the startup of the Interior Division of the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA). She contributed best practices and systems to the industry when it needed it the most. Her volunteer efforts through ALCA, TPIE, and countless regional events, not to mention her 1.3 million and counting views for her educational videos on YouTube is what really separates her from the rest. She is an active member of Green Plants for Green Buildings and National Interiorscape Network.

Hollis Malone was The Director of Horticulture for The Opryland Hotel from conception through the re-planting after the devastating flood. He created the care protocols from the formula for the media, to the daily care of what could be considered one of the best plantscapes in the world. He always took time to tour fellow visiting plantscapers around and answer any questions.

All are encouraged to attend the Awards Celebration and dinner to raise a toast of appreciation for Kathryn and Hollis! The Celebration event will also include the presentation and celebration of 50+ winning entries from 15+ companies in the International Plantscape Awards program. Tickets to the Celebration can be purchased at by registering to attend Cultivate. Nominations for the 2019 Interior Plantscape Hall of Fame are currently being accepted. Complete information about the Hall of Fame program may be found here.
