Lynn Jacquez’ professional background spans private law practice, government relations, and service in the Federal government. In her work for its Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees, and International Law, she had primary responsibility for the drafting and processing of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) and refugee reauthorization legislation.
After her tenure on the Committee, Ms. Jacquez entered private practice with Heron, Burchette, Ruckert & Rothwell, and later with McAuliffe, Kelly & Raffaelli. In 1992, she helped form the government relations firm which became CJ Strategies in 2006 and in 2011 established the law firm of CJ Lake LLC where she is now managing partner and Principal.
U.S. Congressman, Ohio 14th District
Representative Dave Joyce, a lifelong Ohioan has dedicated his life to family and community. He is entering his firth term in office as U.S Congressman representing the 14th District of Ohio.
As a former prosecutor, the safety and wellbeing of Ohio’s communities still remain one of his top priorities. He co-founded the Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence in the 115th Congress and is the Vice Chair of the Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus. With Ohio being one of the states hit hardest by the opioid epidemic, he has fought to ensure that the federal funding Congress provides to combat the crisis effectively supports the lifesaving work local communities carry out on the front lines of this epidemic.
Representative Joyce also serves on the influential House Appropriations Committee and is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies where he is a fierce advocate of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Having established himself as a leader of Congress’ bipartisan effort to preserve and protect the Great Lakes, he also serves as the Co-Chair of the House Great Lakes Task Force. In 2019, he received the inaugural Great Lakes Changemaker Award from the Council of the Great Lakes Region.
Representative Joyce received his BA in Accounting, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton, and lives in Bainbridge Township, OH with his family.
U.S. Congresswoman, California 19th District
Zoe Lofgren has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1995. She represents the 19th District of California, based in the “Capital of Silicon Valley,” San Jose, and the Santa Clara Valley. Before being elected to office, Lofgren practiced immigration law as a partner in the firm of Webber & Lofgren and also taught immigration law at University of Santa Clara School of Law.
Lofgren currently serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship. She is recognized as an established champion of top-to-bottom immigration reform and a national leader in immigration policy. During the 113th Congress she played a key role in negotiating a comprehensive reform bill in the House Representatives as part of an eight-person bipartisan working group. Lofgren was also the sponsor of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act in the last Congress, a key industry priority. Additionally, she is a member of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress, formed to make Congress more transparent, unifying and responsive to the needs and aspirations of the American people.

Robert Dietz, PhD
Chief Economist at the National Association of Home Builders
Robert Dietz is Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Economics and Housing Policy for the National Association of Home Builders, where his responsibilities include housing market analysis, economic forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research. He has published academic research on the benefits of homeownership, federal tax policy, and other housing issues, and has testified before Congress on real estate policy issues. He is often cited on housing and economic issues in the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and other media sources. Prior to joining NAHB in 2005, Robert worked as an economist for the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation, where he was the committee’s real estate expert. He is a native of Dayton, Ohio and earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University.

A principal with K·Coe Isom, Brian leads the firm’s Federal Affairs service area. With a background in environmental law and regulations, he identifies and educates business owners on how to influence and change political systems for a market advantage.
Brian is a founder of Vela Environmental, a consulting firm supporting long-term business sustainability that became part of K·Coe Isom in 2013. During the past 20 years, he has served as chief of staff, legislative director, and environmental and energy adviser to U.S. Senator Max Baucus. A leader in sustainability, he was awarded the Loeb Fellowship at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and selected as a U.S.-Japan Leadership Foundation Fellow.

Beth Swanson is a senior associate with KCoe Isom. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, she recently moved to the Kansas City area. Beth is a member of the firm’s National Tax Solutions team, specializing in advising business owners on employee compensation and benefits, tax strategies, reorganizations, and tax law changes. She also advises individual clients on estate planning, with a focus on helping family businesses transition to and thrive in the next generation of stakeholders.
